Williams and Orsted Partner to Explore Clean Energy Opportunities in US

The companies including Williams and Orsted have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the purpose of exploring the potential clean energy opportunities and together developing the Power-to-X projects in the United States. With this new partnership, both the companies are going to identify different ways for leveraging the renewables and hydrogen expertise of Orsted along with the natural gas infrastructure and procession experience of Williams for the purpose of developing the hydrogen or synthetic natural gas facilities that have been powered by the renewable energy.

As a part of the partnership, both the companies are going to be exploring the large-scale wind energy, along with the electrolysis and synthetic gas through the methanation co-development in the western Wyoming, where the company ‘Williams’ is owning significant natural gas infrastructure and land area.

Vishal Kapadia, chief commercial officer and senior vice president of Ostred Onshore said, they are very excited for partnering with Williams for the purpose of delivering the clean energy in the United States and also transforming their onshore energy business into a platform of potential growth for the renewable hydrogen.

Chad Zamarin, senior vice president for the corporate strategic development at Williams said, the company’s natural gas and their large-scale energy infrastructure network have been the ideal partners for the purpose of facilitating the integration of the renewables into the energy mix along with helping their customers for moving towards the low carbon future. He also said, the company’s thorough technology innovation and partnership, they can possibly leverage their assets and expertise for the purpose of developing the solutions to advance in a clean energy economy.
