Mitsubishi Chemical and Kebotix Partner to Tackle Chemical Toxicity

The US-based technology company ‘Kebotix’ has been selected by the Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation for the purpose of expanding the company’s long-term effort for solving the environmental problems along with a greener chemistry along with providing a diverse range of the products.

This project of the newly announced partnership is going to be focusing on identifying a substitute for the chemical Bisphenol A, also known as BPA, in a global product that is going to be disclosed later, and the BPA has been widely found in the polycarbonate plastics and also in the epoxy resins, that has been considered toxic by the health experts of the United States.

According to the estimation of US CDC, 9 out of 10 people in the United States are exposed to the BPA because of the heavy use of the chemical in the packaging of food and drinks. The company Kebotix is going to be implementing the machine learning and computational models, that are combine with the experimental testing for the purpose of discovering the candidate substances, which has been expected to lead the finding of a suitable substitute for the BPA.

For this, the Kebotix is going to apply for the company’s expertise in using the robotics and artificial intelligence for the purpose of speeding up the processing, synthesis, discovery and application of the advanced materials. Rather than taking the traditional approach of the research and development for iterating off the existing and running unnecessary large number of the experiments and the company is also going to be implementing the machine and computational learning models for the purpose of predicting the desired properties.
