AstraZeneca, a pharmaceutical company is going to be filing a request for the authorization of the company’s novel corona virus in the United States later in the year 2021, as said by the company. Earlier 2021, the concerns have emerged over the side effects of the corona virus vaccine developed by AstraZeneca because of the rare cases of blood-clotting after the covid-19 vaccination.
After several countries temporarily banned the use of the novel corona virus vaccine, the World health Organization (WHO) said, it has been considering the benefits if the drug for outweighing the risks of the vaccine.
On Wednesday, 29th September 2021, the company ‘AstraZeneca’ said, they are continuing to work with the US FDA on the submission of the request, and currently, the situation with respect to the novel corona virus pandemic along with the availability of the alternative supply of the vaccine in the United States, which does not really support the Emergency Use Approval of the vaccine, and hence the company believes that the authorization of covid-19 vaccine from the United States is going to be through a Biologics License Applications (BLA) that they are expecting to be submitted later in 2021.
In the month of February 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) has listed two versions of the AstraZeneca novel corona virus vaccine for the emergency use, along with giving the authorization to those novel corona virus vaccines that are being rolled out across the globe through the mechanism of COVAX.
