Pfizer Submits Data on Covid-19 Vaccine in Young Children

On Tuesday, 28th September 2021, Pfizer and BioNTech has stared submitting the data to the US FDA for the authorization of the novel corona virus vaccine in the children coming between the age group of 5 years to 11 years.

The children in the country, who have been infected in the greater number during the latest wave of the virus driven by the delta variant of the novel corona virus along with inoculating this particular age group has been seen as the key for keeping the schools open and also providing help in ending the novel corona virus pandemic.

Both Pfizer and BioNTech said, this data has been shared with the US FDA for the initial review of the agency, and a formal submission for the purpose of requesting the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) of the novel corona virus vaccine of the companies in the children between 5 years to 11 years of age and it is also expected to be followed in the upcoming weeks.

This news has come, after the companies had announced the positive results from a global clinical trial, which has been showing the novel corona virus vaccine had been safe and it has also evoked a robust response of the neutralizing antibodies, that can possibly stop the novel corona virus from entering the cells.

The US FDA has previously said that, once the formal submission of the corona virus vaccines is completed, the US FDA is going to complete its review in the upcoming weeks.
