The automobile company ‘Citroen’ has confirmed that, the electric vehicle ‘Ami’ is going to be launched in the United Kingdom in 2022, along with 12,000 prospective customers that have already declared interest in buying the car.
The decision has been responsible in marking a significant U-turn for the company, and the Ami had never intended for sale in the United Kingdom but followed by the reception from the eager buyers and having the support from Eurig Druce, managing director of Citroen, the car has got the approval.
Eurig Druce said, the response to the car Ami has also ben overwhelming, and the momentum has just built a point which they cannot say no, and the car is just not a vehicle, but it embodies one view, which they have for the future transport around the usability and sustainability and selling the electric Ami in the United Kingdom will get those values across in a way that, marketing campaign can ever do.
The car ‘Ami’ is only going to be sold in the left-hand drive, but at 1390mm in width along with a strong all-round visibility because of the car’s 2410mm length, and this means that, the driver will be sitting around 300mm adrift, and the other modifications that are required for sale in the United Kingdom have been limited to the changing of the charging plug for a fitting of Type 2, along with several adjustments and calibration to miles it will go per hour.
