Polestar, an automobile company, is going to be expanding the capability of engineering with a new facility at the MIRA Technology Park based in the Motorsport Valley in the Midlands of United Kingdom.
The positioning of the new Research and Development sit at the automotive testing and development site of MIRA is going to enable the OEM for taking the full advantage of a completely diverse range of the expertise in engineering. In 2020, the research and development team of Polestar has been doubled in the size to 250, and the automobile company is now predicting that, this is going to increase to above 500 in the future.
Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar said, going fully electric has been a pivotal moment in the history of the cars, and this combination of the engineering talent of the United Kingdom and Swedish expertise is going to make sure that, their cars are going to be among the highest performing along with the most sustainable vehicles on the road.
Working in the partnership with the research and development team of Polestar based in Sweden, the team of United Kingdom is going initially focus on the development of the Precept model of the brand ahead of the production that is going to start before 2025.
Pete Allen, head of Research and Development of Polestar, UK said, the Precept has been a statement given with the intent for the brand in the terms of design, sustainability and technology, and the production car is going to be taking an important step on the journey towards the climate neutrality, and the team will be responsible for delivering it.
