Valneva, a vaccine producing company based in France said, the government of United Kingdom has cancelled a deal for the novel corona virus vaccine developed by the company. The government of United Kingdom had an order of around 100 million doses of the Valneva corona virus vaccine, after United Kingdom increase the request of the vaccine by 40 million does in the month of February 2021.
Valneva said, the government of United Kingdom has served notice over the allegations of breaching the agreement, which the company ‘Valneva’ is denying, and the government of United Kingdom said that, the decision is going to have no impact on the supply of the novel corona virus vaccines in the United Kingdom.
A spokesperson for Boris Johnson, prime minister of United Kingdom said, the comments from Valneva are not going to have any kind of impact on the vaccine supply and it does not form any part of their rollout of the corona virus vaccine in the seasons like winter and autumn, and the UK MHRA has not given the approval to the novel corona virus vaccine of Valneva.
The company said in a statement that, it has received a notice of termination from the government of the United Kingdom in the relation to the Supply Agreement for the company’s vaccine candidate known as VLA2001, and the contract is providing the government of United Kingdom with the right to terminate or cancel the order of vaccine, and the government of United Kingdom has alleged that, the company is breaking its obligations under the supply agreement.
