Nokia Selected to Modernize RAN of Union Wireless in US

On 26th August 2021, the company Nokia announced, it has been selected by the Union Wireless of the United States for swapping out the existing RAN (Radio Access Network) equipment with the radio portfolio of Nokia known as AirScale 4G and 5G for the purpose of modernizing the company’s network along with supporting the Secure and Trusted Telecommunications Act.

The company ‘Union Wireless’ is going to be deploying the 4G services initially along with a in-built path to the 5G network for the subscribers, and additionally for the purpose of supplying the radios, along with Nokia has also been providing all type of the integration and deployment services, that has been including the tower and ground work, along with the commissioning, installation, cluster optimization and RF Design.

Eric Woody, chief technical and operations officer at the Union Wireless said, when it came for choosing a vendor for the purpose of swapping out their existing equipment of the Radio Access Network, and they are also going to undertake a competitive look at the industry.

Eric Woody also said, out of all the network vendors, Nokia has stepped up for providing the equipment and the services, which they will be requiring and the company ‘Nokia’ had been willing to provide the turnkey services and radio equipment that had also been the factors contributing in their decision for working with Nokia, and together they are also looking forward for bringing the critical 4G and 5G services to the subscribers of the company, that have been working and living in several of the most rural areas of the United States of America.
