United Kingdom’s Octopus Energy has now entered the energy market of Spain with the acquisition of the company Umeme, which is a green energy start up in Spain, and with the help of this acquisition, Octopus Energy is going to be target for attracting around a million energy accounts in Spain to the brand of the company by 2027, which is going to help Octopus Energy to reach the overall goal of 100 million energy accounts.
The company Octopus Energy is currently having a retail, production and tech licenses in eleven countries across the regions of 4 continents, and this has also been including the expansion of the company into the countries like the United States, Australia and Germany in 2020, and this expansion is including an acquisition of 20 percent from Origin Energy, which is an integrated energy company, which has been responsible in turning Octopus Energy in a leading start-up.
Through the Acquisition of Umeme, the company Octopus Energy is now planning to offer 100 percent of the renewable energy that has been optimised by the company Kraken platform in the region of Spain among the several other services.
Greg Jackson, Founder and CEO of the company said, they had been very impressed by the entrepreneurial spirit and technology leading approach of the company ‘Umeme, that has been very rate in the energy industry, and the targets of the company for Spain might be high, but he has not doubt that, they are going to see a similar trajectory growth in the region of Spain as the company Octopus Energy did in the other locations.
