Sanofi Agrees to Acquire US-based mRNA Developer ‘Translate Bio’

According to the reports, the company ‘Sanofi’ has agreed for acquiring ‘Translate Bio’ as biotech company based in the United States in a deal of 3.2 billion dollars as Sanofi has now been betting on the next-generation mRNA vaccine technology beyond the novel corona virus pandemic.

The company ‘Sanofi’ said, it is going to be requiring all the outstanding shares of the US-based company Translate Bio for 38 dollars per share in cash, that has been representing a total equity value of around 3.2 billion dollars, and the management boards of both Sanofi and Translate Bio have now approved the deal, and the chief executive of the Translate Bio and the largest shareholder of the company have also backed the decision.

The shares of the France based pharmaceutical company ‘Sanofi’ have been increased by 0.3 percent in the morning trade, and Paul Hudson, CEO of Sanofi said, the acquisition of Translate Bio is going to add an mRNA technology platform along with strong capabilities to their research, and also advancing the ability of the company for the purpose of exploring the promise of the biomass technology for the purpose of developing both including the therapeutics and best-in-class vaccines in the future.

The bid of Sanofi for the company ‘Translate Bio’ has been responsible for marking the latest interest by a large pharmaceutical company in the mRNA technology, that has been followed by the proven success in the novel corona virus vaccines that has been developed by the companies including Moderna and Pfizer and BioNTech.
