Rivian, an electric vehicle startup of the United States has been in talks with the government of United Kingdom for the purpose of building a vehicle manufacturing factory across the region of Bristol in UK, and according to the reports, the talks between the UK government and Rivian are not yet at an advanced stage but it has been citing the industry sources by saying the decision of the company for building the factory is likely going to be worth over 1 billion pounds to the economy of United Kingdom.
The negotiations between both UK government and Rivian, which are detailed in the report are mostly said to be ongoing at the same time as some similar discussions are going one between the company Rivian and the representatives of the Netherlands and Germany, as Rivian is planning the expansion of the presence of the company outside of the United States of America.
According to the reports, the factory of the United Kingdom is likely going to be building more electric vehicles, other than the batteries, even though the sources have been suggesting that, a battery Gigafactory is remaining on the cards, and Boris Johnson, prime minister of United Kingdom said, it has been briefed on the evolving plans and it has also been taking a keen interest in the facility.
The car line-up of the company has been consisting of the technically identical R1T pick-up truck along with the R1S SUV since its launch, and these two vehicles are going to be priced equivalent of 48,500 pounds as they are in the United States.
