Shell New Energies US LLC, a subsidiary company of the Royal Dutch Shell Plc, has successfully signed an agreement for acquiring 100 percent of the equity interest of Inspire Energy Capital LLC, which is a renewable energy residential retailer company based in the United States.
This acquisition is going to be responsible in advancing the Powering Progress strategy of the company Shell for the purpose of building and scaling up the low-carbon and renewable energy businesses with a target for becoming a net-zero carbon emissions energy business by 2050, along with the society.
Elisabeth Brinton, executive vice president of renewables and energy solutions at Shell said, their goal is to become one of the major providers of the low-carbon and renewable energy across the globe and this acquisition is going to be responsible in moving the company a step closer for achieving that goal, and she also said that, this acquisition is instantly going to expand their offerings of business to consumer power in some of the key areas or regions of the United States.
She added, they are well positioned for building on the advanced digital capabilities of the company Inspire Energy for the purpose of allowing more households to be benefitted from the low-carbon and renewable energy.
Inspire Energy Capital LLC offers renewable energy to its customers through a variety of subscription plans and innovative services, along with incentivizing the customers for managing the usage of energy through a rewards program within the mobile app of the company.
