According to a new study, the two doses of the novel corona virus vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and Pfizer are mostly effective against the highly transmissible Delta variant of the novel corona virus as they have been against the Alpha Variant.
On Wednesday, 21st July 2021, according to a research published in New England Journal of Medicine, both the novel corona virus vaccines of Pfizer and AstraZeneca had been highly effective against the Delta corona virus variant, which is currently the most dominant corona virus strain across the globe.
The study has also confirmed that, the data given by the Public Health England (PHE) in the month of May 2021 regarding the efficacy of the corona virus vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and Pfizer, which has been based on the real-world data.
The study has found that, Pfizer corona virus vaccine had been 88 percent effective at the prevention of the asymptomatic disease from the Delta covid-19 variant with the help of both the doses, as compared with the 93,7 percent effectiveness against the Alpha variant of the corona virus, that has broadly been the same as it was reported previously.
The two shots of the novel corona virus vaccine developed by AstraZeneca against the Delta variant of the corona virus, which is up from 60 percent, which was originally reported in the past, and the vaccine has also been 74.5 percent against the Alpha variant of the corona virus as compared with an estimate of effectiveness by 66 percent.
