National Grid: UK Needs 13GW of Energy Storage by 2030

Environment Power & Energy

National Grid’s arm electricity system operator (ESO) in United Kingdom has outline four different pathways for the future of the energy in the United Kingdom, in the company’s document of Future Energy Scenarios (FES) 2021, which is responsible for describing the transformation of the energy mix, along with the flexibility, transport industry and also the residential industry.

Three of the scenarios present in the tenth annual energy report is now seeing that, the country is going to reach the target of net zero by 2050, as the slowest of all the four steady progressions has been seeing a decrease of 73 percent in the greenhouse emissions by the end of 2050.

The System Transformation and Consumer Transformation have been seeing different types of the drivers, that is going to enable in United Kingdom for hitting the legally binding the target of decarbonisation, and among the main messages, which will emerge from the report, that had been holistic energy market reform are going to be needed for driving the flexibility along with as much as 13 GW of the electricity storage, which will be needed by the year 2030 for the purpose of enabling large growth in the renewable energy industry.
