On 1st July 2021, Scott Keogh, president and chief executive of the automobile giant Volkswagen US said, the company has successfully sold more than 211,000 cars in the United States in the first half of 2021, which was the highest level for the period in around 50 years since 1973, and it has also been on pace for selling over 400,000 cars in 2021.
Scott Keogh said, the Volkswagen US has been successful in boosting the market share and volume of the sales because of an expanded portfolio, which has been increasingly focused on the SUV cars ranging from the fully electric ID.4 and the new Toas compact.
The German made fully electric ID.4 have been successful in hitting the dealers of the United States earlier 2021, and the company has sold 5,756 units of the car in the first half of 2021, along with 85 percent of the incoming trade from the owners of the non-electric vehicles, and it has also been the most profitable car for the dealers in the United States of America.
Scott Keogh also said, around three quarters of the company’s sales in the United States of America had been the SUV vehicles, that has been responsible in boosting the average prices of the vehicles by around 4,000 dollars a year ago, and the sales of the company has been decreased in the June 2021, as he said, as the inventories of the unsold car models have come to 32,000, which is around 30-day supply for the dealers.
