On Monday, 28th June 2021, the automobile company ‘Honda’ has announced that, it is going to be introducing an electric vehicle, which will be called as the Prologue, which has been responsible for marking the first attempt of the company for selling an electric vehicle in the market as Honda has been pivoting away from the cars powered by gasoline.
The launch of the electric vehicle has been a part of the recently announced plan of the company for switching to all zero-emission vehicles in the region of North America by 2040, that is also including the hydrogen vehicles and battery electric vehicles.
Dave Gardner, executive vice-president of American Honda said, the company’s zero-emission focus have started, and when the car ‘Prologue’ arrives in the US by 2024, the company is now expecting the sales of the electric vehicle in the United States for reaching the levels of two of the company’s most popular SUVs know as Pilot and Passport.
Dave Gardner also said, the 2024 car ‘Prologue’ is now being developed in the partnership with the automobile giant General Motors, whose battery system is going to be used on the vehicle, and both Honda and General Motors have now been closely working on several other projects.
Honda has declined for revealing any other details about the pricing, appearance and specifications of the car. The move of Honda away from the gas-powered trucks and cars has been part of a bigger industry shift, and after years of hard work, the electric vehicles have been poised for a sharp increase in the sales of the cars.
